# History

Folder keeps every version of every file, overwrites and deletes included, and says who made each change. Restore any version from the Mac app or the web.

Every overwrite and every delete stays restorable.

R2 has no history of its own; Folder adds it. Every change says who made it: you, another device, another app.

## Put a Version Back

- On the Mac: right-click a file in Finder › History…, or History in the app. The list sorts by when, by whom and by size.
- On the web: open the file at folder.dev; under History each version has View, Restore and Save a Copy.

Restoring makes the old version the current one. The version it replaces is kept too.
